Hon Cau (or Cu Lao Cau), an island in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. The reason the island has such a name is because there are many spinach on the island. This is a small island located about 10km away from the mainland, with a length of 1.5km and the widest place about 800m.

Therefore, on the full moon day of April every year, a big festival is held, attracting hundreds of people to the island to have fun and pray.
 
The fishing festival on Cu Lao Cau island attracts many tourists to learn about religious practices as well as explore the unspoiled beauty of the island. You can choose to depart to Hon Cau from Lien Huong wharf or Phuoc The fishing port. If in the past, tourists had only one option to take a boat of fishermen or a ship of the border guard, now there is a dedicated canoe service to transport tourists to the island.
 
Going to Hon Cau usually only takes about 30-40 minutes to travel on calm sea days with ticket prices from 200,000 to 250,000 VND/person. Visitors do not need to worry too much about transportation as well as food on the island because many units and individuals organize tours of Cu Lao Cau island. In addition, watching diverse coral populations with more than 234 species, rowing sup in the sea, enjoying seafood... are also fascinating experiences.
 
Hon Cau is uninhabited, with very few restaurants, so visitors need to prepare food, necessities, and tents fully if traveling on their own. If camping overnight, it is necessary to seek permission from the competent people at the Cu Lao Cau border station. With the consent, visitors are free to camp, enjoy the view of the clear moon and cool breeze on the island and immerse themselves in the peace that nature brings.
